Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2015

$26.95

The 2015 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills checks in as a blend of the 3D, Acin and Machado Vineyards, and it’s brought up identically to the single vineyards... Like the Hapgood, it’s a seriously rich, unctuous beauty that offers notes of buttered citrus rind, candied lemons, honeycomb and hints of minerality. Deep, rich and thrillingly textured, it’s certainly the smart value play of the lineup as it’s half the price, but more than half the wine." - Jeb Dunnuck

A blend of several viineyards, aromas of fruit and toasty creamy oak spice. On the palate pear, apple and hints of peach with citrus notes and nice round oaky honey tones. Medium+ finish ending with a creamy mineral edge. Nice!

Rich, but with enough acid to balance. Baked apple notes with decent minerality. I prefer my chardonnays less aggressively Oaked, but it’s well-made for the style.

Big and beautiful. I’m not usually a fan of California wines, but this is something special. Must be mostly steel or neutral oak—just enough to balance everything else.
