Bodegas Sierra Cantabria Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2010

$19.99

The 2010 Reserva from Rioja, again comes from their oldest vineyards and is 100% Tempranillo aged 18 months in equal parts French and American oak. It shows plenty of graphite, blackcurrant, cedar wood and spice box in a complex set of aromatics. The wine hits the palate with loads of sweet, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, spicy oak and finishes the medium-bodied, well-proportioned and long, opulent richness. This is a beauty to drink now and over the next decade. Robert Parker

Bar Harbor. A French tasting Rioja with a nice fruit and smoke balance; dry side. Had with paella. Delicious.

Estoy enamorado! I’m in Love! The Fruit jumps out of the bottle on the nose reminding me of a Strawberry Jolly Rancher. This wine takes the best of the best. It’s got a body like a French Pinot, the fruit forwardness of a Merlot, and grabs the Oak like a Cabernet and It finishes like a Beaujolais. Red Cherry, Strawberry and Oak run neck and neck from the start to the checkered flag! And for less than $23. What!?! A Winner!

Ok. Not much on the nose, medium to low finish, and something I would classify as a modest table wine.
