Vertical tasting of William Selyem 2000-2013. Strawberry cream, yogurt, dried strawberry, blackberry, tart red berry, hints of prune and fig, lavender, and mint. High acidity, a bit harsh on palate.

Began as a dream of 2 friends, Ed Selyem & Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, CA, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. Ruby with complex aromas of black & red berries with subtle spice scents. On the palate cherry and strawberry with citrus, cacao, vanilla spice and toasty notes. Aged on French Oak, well balanced, savory, round tannins, lingering nicely ending with some earthy mineral tone, OR style. Has room to age. Very nice!

I like the '12' lot. This is their first wine that I've tried not from Sonoma Co. It's a lot more simple, straight forward than my beloved Allen Vineyard from them but darn nice.

Drinking beautifully. Needs about 2 more years in the bottle.

Beautiful fruit on the noise hits you immediately, long finish. Same consistent quality from WS. Smooth and flows lightly across the palette. I found it to fade as it oxidized, possibly exposing some flaws.
