That year's slacker. Only 99pts? Should've paid attention in class.

This vintage has a very ripe and seductive nose of dark currant and cassis fruit very rich chocolate with cigar box spice fresh herbs and earthy notes very complex. Has a very smooth and velvety texture very drinkable with a long layered finish most excellent

Color - dark red with some bricking. Beautiful nose—Dark cherry black-blueberry fruits with scents of vanilla cream, pine, cedar lingering menthol. Taste is intense and full bodied! The structure of the wine speaks for itself— a blast of blackberry fruit and cassis, tobacco, chocolate and crushed gravel with a pepper-graphite long finish. Tannins are present but light. Flavors are well integrated and pleasing to the pallet. Pairs well with aged cheddar cheese and pepper salami softening the wine and bringing out other flavors of subtle vanilla, dark red plum and cedar.

This is the Pauillac style of their 3 wines with 71% cab, 14% merlot, & cab franc, malbec, Petit verdot. +3 hour decant (lots of chunky sediment). A superlative deep dark garnet color. On the nose: dark cherry, vanilla cream, pine tree, blackberry, cedar, and slight minty menthol. Taste: an intense, smooth, full body wine with blackberry, cassis, tobacco, red plum, crushed gravel, and a peppery mineral long finish. YUM!!.....drinking well with the +3 hour decant, and should have many years ahead, no hurry.
