This is a thoroughly enjoyable, hedonistic wine - exciting blackberry, cassis and black cherry with perfectly balanced oak. Lovely and delicious

The Venge (ven-ghee) family has farmed grapes in Napa Valley for nearly a half-century, beginning when Knud Venge migrated from Denmark to the United States in the early 1900’s. Aged in French oak, 65% new, for 18 mos. A big wine, decant for an hour! Deep ruby with aromas of fresh blue and black fruits. On the palate blackberry and blueberry flavors, well balanced, good structure, full body, firm tannins, medium+ length ending. Will age well.

I’ve seen @Ron R and others post this so many times with such praise, I had to try it. Such a great wine! Deep burgundy in the glass, this fruit-forward wine hits you with massive black fruit, sweet oak, hints of clove. Pop and pour, crowd pleasing goodness. Why did I wait so long to get this??? This may be the best sub-$50 wine I’ve had. Curious how this compares to prior vintages - anyone who’s tried the ‘15 as well as prior vintages please share!

Well peer pressure got me into this. And peer pressure is sometimes worth it. While I wish I had gotten more than one bottle because I feel a yearly tasting over the next five or eight years would prove revelationary, even this early I see why I kept seeing everyone talking of Venge. Ripe berries yet the acid and tannins balance the ripe fruit. There are hints of leather and tobacco but the finish needs work but for a 2015 cab? Holy hell I am grabbing more Venge to save...
