Time for something from France. I’ve generally not been a huge fan of Taittingers N/V, but after a series of Croatian wines, it seems much better. Just goes to the saying, everything’s relative! . @AmbassorHotel-Split, Croatia.

I picked this up a few years ago. Glad I didn’t hold onto it any longer. Perfect time to open. Golden in colour. Soft bubbles. Champagne and oysters… no better pairing.

Prestige Rosé stands out for its intense hue whose secret lies in the fact that it is a blend, complex & costly to produce. The blend, 15% of the best Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims & Les Riceys added to the final blend, giving this cuvée its unique color & intensity. The wine contains Chardonnay (30%) completing the blend bringing elegance to Taittinger’s signature style. Red fruit aromas with strawberry and cherry flavors, elegant, long finish ending with chalky minerality and slight yeasty notes.

This is a blend of 40 different crus and is the same as the Brit la franchise which is only called that in the US. This is a blend of all three grapes Chardonnay Pinot noir and meunière. A balanced and elegant. Style with a touch of almond and ginger spice. Smooth creamy texture on the tongue with fresh tree fruits apples pear and lemon zest on the finish. Excellent
