Sipping Fine Wine

Grabbed a bottle to close the Summer on Labor Day weekend. Blend of 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir this wine was rich and complex. Pale yellow, vibrant bubbles, Crisp fruit aromas, apples and pears. Palate shows generous mineral and toasty oak notes integrated with the fruit. Absolute a must on your list, a true house staple for me. Great Champagne value. Overall nice summer, a tad wet back east!

This is a blend of 40 different crus and is the same as the Brit la franchise which is only called that in the US. This is a blend of all three grapes Chardonnay Pinot noir and meunière. A balanced and elegant. Style with a touch of almond and ginger spice. Smooth creamy texture on the tongue with fresh tree fruits apples pear and lemon zest on the finish. Excellent

Served ad libitum to the 100-odd guests at the reception for the Nobel Prize winner (medicine) after his lecture. Correctly temperatured in well-shaped flutes and with delicious hors d'heuvres, this champagne still can't hold its own against many other standard cuvees. The mousse, fruit and acid profiles are great but it all dies off mid-palate.
