A steal of a sparkler. Giving Champagne a run for its money with a $33 price tag and a world of complexity. When blind tasters separately call notes of seaweed and seashells you begin to wonder how California can produce such minerality. Fine, elegant bubbles are met with citrus, sea breeze, and faint brioche. Remarkable.

Lively, fresh, focused CA bubbles. Great nose of sea spray and an almost smoky crushed chalk mineral character, tart green apple and slight lemon curd, and some subtle leesy hard cheese and brioche action. Pretty congruent with the nose on the palate. Fine, yet lively mousse makes for great texture on the palate. Screaming acid. Angular. Medium (-) body. Dosage seems slightly lower than an average brut. Somewhat reminiscent of good Chablis with bubbles.
