For over 40 years, Robert Mondavi Winery has been the star of Napa Valley. Founded in 1966, it was the first major winery built in Napa Valley in the 3 decades following the repeal of Prohibition, and went on to establish the foundation for modern California winemaking. Dark Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits and earthy spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with herb spice. Soft tannins on a savory frame carry the wine to a lingering finish. Consistent quality Y/O/Y.

This is a great Cali Pinot. Earthy great red and black fruit and none of the overly extracted heavy cherry cola and sweetness that infects a lot of California Pinot.

Usually not a huge fan of Cali Pinot but really enjoyed this. Light fruit notes that linger without getting overly extracted as many Cali Pinots can. Have a few more bottles and looking forward to the next one.
