This really needs more time in bottle in my opinion. It is a beautiful wine but it will be superb in just a few more years. The folks at Ridge are incredible.

History begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor in San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Aromas of zesty fresh fruit and berries. Blend of 83% Zinfandel, 10% Alicante Bouschet, 7% Petite Sirah. A big wine! Aromas of jammy red fruits and loads of complex spice. The palate shows sweet plum and cherry flavors with pepper, smoke and herbs. Fine tannins on the rustic side, well balanced lingering ending with earthy oak.

Menthol and supple red and blue fruits. Highly aromatic and rich/silky palate.

Beautiful fruitiness in the wine balanced by some earthiness. Perfect with a PorterHouse Steak.

Ridge 2015 Pagani Ranch blend : 83%zinfandel, 10% alicante bouschet, 7% petite sirah. What can I say there is a little bit of prune in the middle, but its so overwhelmed by an incredible spice and chocolate ending that its worth another sip. The bouquet is awesome. Its almost like a tawny port. Lots of elderberry and raspberry on the initial palate. After decanting the prune part is gone!!!!!!!! That moves it from my initial 8.5 to 9.0. This is good but you must decant. Okay, now its bad again. Im giving it a 7.9.

Tar, violets, and red fruit lead the charge in this great wine. It seems odd to call a 15% alcohol Cali Zin balanced but this wine delivered. Tannins are firm but integrated.
