Ridge Wine Dinner. Dark ruby, almost opaque. Herbal nose with notes of black fruit, gravel, tobacco leaf and cedar. Secondary notes show this has evolved. Rich and big in the mouth. But still shows it's big angular tannins and needs more time for them to resolve. Hope the fruit stays along for the ride.

Textbook Bordeaux blend. Visually, there are mild signs of bricking. Nose has notes of leather, dust and cigar box. On the palette, sandalwood and light cherries are pronounced. Finishes with balance and verve. Yeah, that's the Ridge winemaker sucking up to me!
