Cab franc in its element. First time tasting this gem. Rigid structure which unfurled with air. So linear. Expands on the palate.

Mmmm. Been holding onto this a few years now. Such a sweet surprise. Very complex and a crowd favorite. Ovid has a certain finesse and silliness with all their wines on the palate.

It's Friday; it's Christmas- almost- why not. Cab Franc with a little help from some varietal friends. Awesome

I love Cab Franc when it's done right and this is done right.

The thing I'm most impressed with is that this wine was extremely soft. About 70% Cabernet Franc 20% Petit Verdot. The softness definitely doesn't come from the PV!! This wine tastes like it is a barrel sample of a Napa project that is about to be put in bottle. Has some chocolate, wild herb, wildflower notes on the nose. The entry of this wine is black cherry, herb, and sweet chocolate notes to the middle. The finish is a touch brambly, a touch acidic, but it is incredible how rounded this wine is even from start to finish. And at 14 years, I would expect some slight jagged edges. But, this is all finesse. Very impressive.

Really enjoyed. Dark fruit, blueberries. Seems it would continue to show well with a couple more years in the cellar.
