This started out lean and picked up weight & depth after it sat in the decanter after about 20-30 minutes. As we moved through dinner it started to push into 93. The tannins were darker, firmer than the 2009 Pio Cesare. Blackberries, slightly sour but dark cherries, not yet ripe bold orange, tar, beautiful, lighter dark spice, sandalwood, dry tobacco, crashed rocks, nice tarriness, pink & red roses, nice acidity with a good, polished, elegant, well structured & balanced finish that lasts 90 seconds and falls evenly on fruit and earth.

Some nights call for young Barolo // orange-rimmed garnet, lush red fruit on the palate (cherry and strawberry, both dessicated and near-ripe) / floral, aromatic; licorice with gravel in the background / ripe qualities continue through the palate supported by early and ongoing acid. . . Great length; refined but persistent tannins. // Totally satisfying

I’ve opened many a infantile Barolo and enjoyed it, but this one is joyless. All iron fist at this time. ....tasted again second day and it was singing! Bodes well for more time in the bottle.

All the dried roses and tar. Nice, juicy tannins and more acid-forward than i expected. Cocoa powder, wild herbs, leather, dried cherry, a little smokey, some saline/ferrous minerals. From Flatiron Wines.

Nice Barolo but way too young. Still 100% primary and much is hidden behind a lot of tannin. Acid a bit lower than expected. But of course quite nice.
