Black plum, cassis, anise and mint. Amazing complexity and beautiful structure.

Tried this at Chef Geoff in Tysons. First time trying Dunn so I wasn't sure what to expect. Called ahead for a two and a half hour decant. Color was a deep garnet with brown edges. The nose was very tight, savory, greens, dark dirt and something like a dirty garage. Started with savory notes in the palate then completely changed. Moderate tannins and body that was smooth and silky. Very well integrated with some dark fruit, maybe a little cassis. Finish was shorter than expected but still moderate. Overall not a bad wine at all but the finish knocked the points down a bit.

1.5 hour decant(surprisingly just a little cloudy sediment). A prodigious medium dark garnet color with little signs of aging. On the nose: funky stewed meats, blackberry, smoke, plum, minty pepper, creme de cassis. Taste: KABOOM! Rich, silky, full body wine with blackberry, earth, cedar, wet gravel, menthol and a cassis pencil lead long finish with some ashy tannins. In its prime drinking window and this 13.8% alc wine should rock another 10 years. Cheers!

A more sophisticated bouquet than the 2013 last night - again like a classic (right bank) Bordeaux. Soft anise, thoroughly integrated tannins, and a little smoke made this a delightful experience. This wine could still last another decade in the cellar.

What?!? This is so good! I won’t describe all the briar, graphite and brooding dark fruit, because it is just more accurate to say this is just freaking awesome!

From a magnum. First time drinking Dunn and did not disappoint. Dark fruit, balanced, soft tannins. Could age so much more but tasting great now.
