Cool, concentrated blue fruit rounded with fennel and granite. elegant and persistent, but the fruit remains somehow grapey.

13% abv. Seemed a bit one dimensional. Ripe. Lacked the extra gear. Tasty, not great. Didn’t scream Cornas to me.

This was all fruit and flowers for me, with a little bit of minerals--overall aromatic, intense, and complex, but is this northern rhone Syrah? I don't know what the producer was going for, but I would have liked more savory and meaty character to this. Nonetheless, this had seamless tannins, plenty of acid, and a solid finish--I want to try again in 5, 10 years to see where this goes. (Rating for drinking today).
