Moderately saturated dark red. Slightly violety aromas of blueberry, raspberry, menthol, milk chocolate, leather and coffee bean. Juicy, intense and a bit tightly wound, with dark fruit, mineral, violet and licorice flavors framed and extended by sound acidity. Finishes firmly tannic, juicy and long, with repeating floral lift. Clearer and more youthful than a first sample I tried, which was creamy and sweet but a tad rustic and less transparent to its site. This bottle is just now ready to drink. 01' in my humble opinion it's the best vintage from 1998 to 2006 . The 02' is big upfront amazing fruit. But, not near the complexity of this 01'. One hour of decanting...Liquid gold & the drinking window is absolutely perfect for the next 4-6+years.

Epic wine from an epic site... Red volcanic soils, low vigor with a great aspect leads to a wine where the minerality is as awesome as the fruit profile... One of my favorite wines from the eastern Oakville Hills/Pritchard Hill area. 2001

From beginning to end, this case of wine has been a fabulous. The last bottle is even better than the first. Bright dark berry fruits, leather, eucalyptus, showing place in spades. This is Napa front to back. Soft tannins and an elegant finish of 1.5 minutes. Yum is an understatement. Shoutout to Heidi, what a spectacular wine!

When I drew the cork I knew I was off to a great start. This wine has open up beautifully, very soft tannins, with a great finish. Perfect wine for a nice dinner on a cold night.
