Slightly hazy red purple in the glass. Full nose of currant and blackberry cobbler. Confirmed on the full-bodied palate with fine tannins, medium acidity, and a hint of black on the finish. Here we are 16 years on and this wine is still delivering! ‘02 was a great vintage in Napa but you should probably drink up now. You won’t feel bad, I promise. I’m enjoying with cowboy rubbed London broil.

Decant for sediment and pour (lots of chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable murky garnet with bricking. On the nose: Intoxicating notes of stewed dark fruit, green bell pepper, sweet vanilla, menthol, worn leather, dried herbs. Taste: soft, smooth, delicate, balanced wine with prune, cedar, graphite, and a sweet spice tobacco medium plus finish. YUM!!! Still holding its own and fun to drink and discuss tonight. Cheers.
