It was easy to ignore, with the 1900 beaming almost paternally at it, but this is one of the great vintages of this wine, and that continued to be evident. On the nose you had molasses, cherry blossoms, some tobacco, and then the beautiful Margaux violet perfume suffusing your sinuses. The palate was enchanting, mushrooms, flowers, some soy, well integrated acidity, a beguiling sweetness at and past the mid palate. The wine is soft, silky, elegant, red cherries peek out as it builds to a beautiful, seamless, vibrant finale. Other examples of this wine have been slightly drying out, this evening it was luminous and was an example of Margaux near its best.

Wow. Great shape. Beautiful brambly nose. Medium cherry fruit, soft sweet tannins.

A little softer than I expected. Cloudy and the fruit has faded.
