Not very concentrated or complex. Blackberries and tobacco on the nose with a more enjoyable palate. Tannins have definitely smoothed out over time, but are easily detected.

Aged really well. Aniseed, well developed body, cherry. Packed with flavor. Great mineral aftertaste. Tannins smoothed out nicely.

Nice value BDX with some age for around $15. Showing some brick red on the rim. Took about 15-20 minutes in the glass with aeration to start showing its brighter aromas of dried cherry, dried plum, and violet. A lot of “grandpa’s study” throughout - graphite, old leather, tobacco smoke, cedar, incense; as well as black pepper, potting soil, and gravel. Slightly bitter with very little fruit on the palate. Quite drying. Med+ tannin, med- acid, medium finish. There’s a decent amount going on here for the price. Enjoyed a glass or two on three consecutive nights, and it held up great, benefitting from the extra oxygen.

[Tasted on November 2, 2017 at Home] Value Right Bank Bordeaux blend. 40% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Blackberry fruit, barnyard, forest floor. Not overly complex. Nice everyday Bordeaux.
