Charles Shaw California Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Ok I live in Davenport IA..closest Trader Joe's was in Des Moines until last Friday...now there is one in Coralville close to where my daughter is attending college at University of Iowa. Purchased several bottles of wine including some two buck chuck....several years ago I had a Charles Shaw Chardonnay that was quite good!.....So I tried the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon.....hmmmm...banana peel...paint thinner on the nose...not much ...not sure about the alcohol content..I am usually pretty happy after 3 glasses!! MAYBE drink this once you have consumed enough wine that your taste buds would not know the difference... yet you think you want more...this wasn't so bad that I would poor it out.....but would not buy again. Just as an after thought in case you are in Iowa City there is a little grocery store on the corner of Jefferson and Gilbert "John's Grocery" that has some pretty interesting wines offerings for this part of the Midwest...inluding Domain Tempier!
