Almirez- This is a beast of a Tempranillo. Known in the DO as Tinta de Toro, the wine is brawny and brambly with licks of blackberry, vanilla and smoky plum. Full bodied with racy acidity and a penetrating finish. Rich and rugged. A goodie to have in the cellar. I love it. This is a fantastic wine. Great value. Licorice, pipe tobaco, chocolate and black cherries in the nose. Silky mouth feeling, finishing up to a minute. Drinking smooth. Fantastic pqr. I love the bigger brothers too but this is a hidden gem if you are in to powerful yet smooth.

I think had this decanted and hour or two it may have been more to my taste. Less fruit more earth would probably age very well.
