This is easily my favorite Bevan wine. Gobs of fruit but short of overt sweetness. Relatively fine tannins. Dark fruits, cocoa. The best part is a graphite/tar note that emerges late with a nice acidity.

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. Theme was “bring something good”. All wines (minus the bubbles and SB) were tasted blind. This was opened at the end of the night and this is up there with the best Bevan wines I’ve had to date. Wow. Iron fist in a velvet glove. Rich. Smells of the entire fruit spectrum with ripe raspberries, sweet blueberries and juicy-tart blackberries, along Mexican Vanilla and espresso. Creme de cassis, dark chocolate, sandalwood, nutmeg all combine to glide across the palate with glycerin like quality. Not for the faint of heart, but an absolute bombastic and delicious wine. Thanks, @Weston Eidson !
