Dusty cherries and cloves mix with sweet florals and a hint of animal musk as the 2018 Rosso di Montepulciano opens in the glass. This is silky yet cool-toned and pliant, impressing most with its balance of ripe red berries and mineral tension. Its medium-length finale is punctuated by a twang of residual acids and spice. (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2021)

Light to medium bodied A waft of dried red delicious apple - Bright Black cherry skin, Thai basil, wispy little tannins. An easy going Rosso, from a very good producer.

Garnet colored and violet with cinnamon, it spends 18 months in mostly neutral oak only 10-15% French mostly Slovenian. Soft acidity and a long finish.

Big nose, cranberry and leather. There are some tannins entering into the picture. Lovely lingering cedar on the finish

Thought I’d do something fancier for my 1,000th delectable bottle, but oh well. This is decent too!

Ruby coloration with some translucency. On the nose, cherry, currants and vanilla, hints of leather and oak. On the palate, medium body, cherry, vanilla, red licorice , oak, and a long finish of these flavors. A tad sour. Tannins strong do not overpower the fruit. A nice wine at this price point of $16.99 at b-21.
