Vibrant medium ruby with magenta hues; pronounced intensity aromas of ripe red cherry, ripe strawberry, strawberry jam, red plum reduction, mushroom, wet earth, subtle sweet spices, star anise; dry, medium plus acid, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, pronounced intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, ripe fruit well balanced with structure, classic pinot flavors with some extra ripeness, well made, very good

The 2017 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a gorgeous appellation wine that punches well above its weight. Then again, most of the fruit is from Domaine de la Côte, with a healthy dollop (20%) of grapes from Sanford & Benedict. Dark cherry, plum, spice, licorice and menthol infuse this radiant Pinot with tremendous fruit density and power. Dark cherry, plum, licorice and spice are pushed forward. There is so much to like. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2019)

Cherry with notes of berries and slight earth. A delight.

Fruit is fresh, but quite rich. This is very good wine, and everything speaks to quality & balance. Darker fruit and black tea notes emerge on the back end. Tannins seem a little lost, but this is also a very young wine. Definitely worth following.
