Patrizia Cencioni’s soulful wines stand as a solid example of how hard work and perseverance can take a dream and transform it into one of the more promising boutique estates in this world-famous appellation. The star of the estate, ‘Selezione 123’ is a single-vineyard selection (the plot is named ‘123’), one that highlights Patrizia’s highest-altitude and oldest vines (planted in 1987). Aged for 48 months in French oak cask, then 10 months in bottle. Smoky and suave, with fine-grained tannins and loads of heady black fruits. Elegance and power at once!
