Pietroso Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2020
While so much of Montalcino has become consumed by large estates and flashy conglomerates, it is a breath of fresh air to find a true family winery with deep roots in the region and an honest belief in the potential of Sangiovese from its native soils. A lively, fruity Sangiovese selected from Brunello-worthy terroir. Red cherries, flowers, spice. A perfect high-altitude Rosso with plenty of verve.

The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino opens with a dark bouquet, blending crushed ashen rocks with dried cherries and earth tones. It’s silky and round in texture, coasting ripe red fruits across an energizing core of juicy acidity. The 2020 leaves a staining of primary concentration while finishing long, with hints of hard candies and sweet spice that slowly fade.
