Winemaker Philippe Desbos selects fruit from his oldest Syrah vines, some as old as 100 years, for this special cuvée. The estate’s same non-interventionist approach applies: fruit crushed gently by foot, very little added sulfur, aged in neutral barrels.

Nose is great combination high-toned/savory notes of peppercorn, bay leaf, woodsmoke, bramble, crushed blackberry, violet, candied olive, licorice candy. Palate confirms the nose, spice-driven, young and taut with its mineral and earthy tones driving through the finish. Tannins have great texture and power with some pliancy to them, approachable now
