Always a fav. First taste of 2015 vintage, nice balance for the year, extraction is deft and carries some finesse to it. As usual, complex, layered, full of goutte de terroir. Layers of cherry from crushed to soaked, slight hint of prune, raspberry confiture, game, fur, roast beef, juniper, forest and cedar, pure garrigue, licorice root, ceylon cinnamon, chaparral, powdered sugar, 5 spice, singed tobacco, graphite, bitter cocoa. Still taut, the tannins need time to relax, but I think they will always have persistence in the wine. Ok with me.

Wild blackberry, cassis, forest aromas, sage, animal fur, smoked meat. Such a baby right now but already showing signs of the complexity that will certainly come.

What a beautiful find! Hint of cherry aroma, medium body, well balanced, semi-sweet mouthfeel, paired beautifully with both a minty venison meal and a red sauces lobster ravioli. Only wish they had it by the full bottle!!

Intense, brooding red wine starting with prune and finishing with licorice. Good with steak.

Last few vintages have been too clean, too modern, too technical.

Needs to decant for 30 min or so. Not jammy. Earthy, tobacco and dry. Great finish. Medium body.
