From the winery: Sourced primarily from the block located right behind F. Teldeschi Winery, these ancient vines are grown on the gravelly, iron-rich soils that make up the “prime rib” of the East Dry Creek Bench. Though predominately Zinfandel, there is a splash of interplanted Trousseau Noir (or Bastardo, as John Teldeschi relishes saying) and Carignan. This was the first block my dad worked with from Teldeschi back in 1982, and it has always made for a warm hug of a wine filled with cherry and black pepper that screams Dry Creek Valley.
