Okay. What am I missing? I had another wine from this producer I thought was a knockout, but I heard some buzz on this specifically and I’m at a loss. Polished red fruit, spicy, thin and unremarkable. The acidity really kills this palate. It’s so wonky, divisive and unfocused. If there are layers, subtleties, or nuances, it’s lost underneath this pounding acid. Change my mind.

Binnys closeout. Paring with Kansas style bbq bone on country pork rib chops, acorn squash and collard greens. Wine is youthful vibrant and delicious. Savory balsamic fresh cedars notes decorate the jammy yet fleshy mild tannined fruits.

Medium ruby red with garnet edges. Layered nose with notes of smoke, very dark, touch of cocoa, baking spices and some tight dark berries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Well rounded even at a young age. Notes of bark, dark berries, broken twigs, a touch savory with medium plus acidity. Dry and long finish. Drink from 2018 till 2026. (91+)

Dark color from rim to core. The slow movement with a swirl indicates the viscosity. Stewed blackberry aromas with an initial dusty earth flavor slowly uncovers more dark stone fruit complexity. Happy Easter!

This one is labeled “Heritage”, not Zinfandel Blend. Deep burgundy red, highly extracted pigment. Initially, herbal-briar notes in nose with hints of red fruit and funk. Soft, black currant, cherry and raspberry flavors with length, mild seed and skin tannins in finish. Over time, licorice emerges in finish with moderate to heavy skin and seed tannins. Decant at least three hours. Plum flavor emerges if you are patient enough

The wine pours an opaque violet color with intriguing and appealing smoke, black fruit, briary spice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied, fresh and sleek with a great mouth feel, and dusty tannins with black cherries dusted with dark chocolate, and black raspberry flavors with a bit of minerality. 2011 Vintage

Loads of bramble red fruit, sweet spice, cocoa, and sandalwood aromas. Silky mouthfeel with gentle tannins and medium acidity.

The 2022 Evangelho Heritage blend by Bedrock is very light on its feet with a streak of bracing acidity — almost effervescence — along with light tannins. It’s a deep hazy purple in its youth with a nose of tart berry compote and leather. Seems like it will mature nicely.

Fantastic now, a little more bottle time should be even better.
