Piedmont’s true native grape may be Nascetta, a gem that is slowly making a comeback in the Langhe region after being forgotten for too many years. This Langhe Nascetta hails from exceptional terroir in Monforte d’Alba. The family grows vines in ‘Ferrione,’ a cool vineyard that faces east, as well as in the historic ‘Ginestra’ vineyard – unquestionably one of Monforte’s finest. Here at some 1,500 feet above sea level, winds are strong and cool, which translates to balanced, acid-rich grapes and a wonderfully savory and fresh white wine.
