Jochenandnbsp;Driessigackerandnbsp;finished his studies in tax law but always felt a pull toward the vineyard. He apprenticed at a few different cellars and after several years working under the legendary cult producer Klaus-Peter Keller, he set out to revitalize his family's property. Although vines were planted at the estate beginning in the early 18th century, Jochen's arrival at the helm in 2001 quickly propelled Driessigacker from a respectable source of classic wines to the upper echelon of the Rheinhessen. From his entry level Trocken through the powerful Morstein, his wines are bright and expressive with impressive length and complexity. From east/southeast facing vines over dense limestone soils. Mineral intensity and crackling citrus flavors poised on a knifeand#39;s edge. The precision, balance and punch of this wine are especially appealing.
