Daniel Vollenweider is Swiss by birth but long ago fell in love with the majesty of Mosel Riesling. He founded his own estate in 1999 centered on the historically important Wolfer Goldgrude vineyard which had fallen into disuse. Unlike many of the German growers we work with, Vollenweider's specialty is unabashedly sweet Riesling rather than dry and his talent in the idiom is prodigious. If you are looking for an opulent Riesling flaunting sweet fruit and luxuriant textures this is your guy! The remarkable natural of his wines is how impeccably balanced they are, with piercing acidity and always absolutely laden with minerality. While you would never mistake a Vollenweider Kabinett for a dry wine, they never sit heavy or stodgyandnbsp;on the palate;andnbsp; They are simply sublime! Sweet.
