An absolute stunner. Reticent at the start, the nose eventually reveals beautiful notes of oyster shells, pears, green apples, lemon oil, and dried florals. Clearly still has a long life ahead at this stage, but the balance on the palate's already impeccable. Huge volume and layered texture intertwined with powerful cut and salinity. There's just so much intensity right to the searingly saline finish. Would have been nice to see this over a couple of days, but alas, the table deemed it gone over dinner. Definitely the best La Forest I've tasted.
