First with Alvaro Palacios in Priorat, then Niepoort in the Douro, Comte Armand and DRC in Burgundy and then finally with Raul Perez in Bierzo before lauching her own project in Bierzo in 2010. She's chosen Mencia as her muse as one can draw parallels to Pinot Noir and Syrah with refreshing acidity, bright fruit flavors and a tremendous capacity to be a conduit of terroir and clearly reflect soils in the wine.andnbsp; andnbsp;andnbsp;This Roc cuvee includes 30 to 50% whole clusters and is fermented in large oak vats with occasional punching down.andnbsp; Its then raised for 6 months in 2nd or 3rd use 228L French oak barrels.andnbsp; Mencia is every bit as compelling as Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir and Syrah, and this wine proves it.
