Turley Juvenile California Zinfandel 2019
Turley Wine Cellars is a big name in the California wine scene known for crafting opulent wines that maintain a real sense of authenticity. The project was founded by Larry Turley in 1993 and under the direct of wine maker Tegan Passalacqua their extensive holdings of heritage vineyards have been converted to organic farm while all their wines are fermented with native yeasts.andnbsp; The Juvenile Zinfandel is drawn from vines less than 25 years old in many of their most prized parcels including the Kirschenmann, Hayne, and Fredericks vineyards. This is classic California Zin with lush fruit and rich textures showing good focus and just a touch of oak.

There is nothing junior league about the Turley Juvenile Zin. Most of the fruit is from ‘recently’ replanted sections of the famed plots that deliver Turley’s great single vineyard Zins. And ‘recently’ would pass for ‘in their prime’ to most producers at 10-40 years old. In any event, it’s a great wine at a bargain $25 with this youthful vintage showing creamy berries, a hint of tobacco and some really nice acidity. A great way to enjoy great Zin that’s ready to drink and priced to go with weekday dinner.
