Tenuta le Potazzine is a small family run winery located in Le Prata, just south west of the walls of town of Montalcino.andnbsp; Guiseppe Gorelli founded the estate with his wife Gigliola Giannetti in 1993 after years of working for the Brunello Consorzio.andnbsp; Like many of the best Rosso di Montalcino wines, Le Potazzineand#39;s Rosso is always decalssified fromandnbsp;estate vineyards that are approved to produce Brunello.andnbsp; Fermented for 30 days on skins with native yeast and no temperature control, the rosso spends 10 months in Slavonian botti before bottling.

The 2019 Rosso di Montalcino continues to captivate with a display of dusty black cherries, roses and crushed stone. It’s soft and pliant in feel, yet there’s a core of saline-minerality that stimulates the senses, as tart red berries cascade across the palate, and sweet tannins settle in toward the close. This has evolved wonderfully in bottle over the last nine months, finishing lightly structured yet still so pleasurable today. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2022)
