Stalky stemmy and minerally. Barb said pepper and ginger. Very very savoury. Whole bunch fermentation of the Listan Negro grape. Natural yeast in concrete vats. Aromas of lilies. Clean and fresh. Zero sediment. From the Canary Islands.

Pale to mid Ruby with purple rim. Peppery aromas with stalky tomato bush whole bunch notes. 90 year old vines ( mainly Listan Negro) rooted in pure volcanic soil on the Canary Islands. Whole bunch ferment showing on mid intensity elegant palate. No oak influence with a fine tannic finish. Love this style.

Colour: Light ruby, not too dark – Hints of transparency Nose: Red peppercorn and very spicy black pepper are immediately evident here, in a very intense way. Then some gooseberry and herbal notes (stems, grass), then almost scent of salt, great minerality, roasted meat spices. On the fruit level - not too evident because of the former flavours – red cherries and raspberries. Also a flower note (violets and lilles). Overall very interesting, complex and multi-layered. Palate: very spicy and peppery, good level of acidity; peppercorn and black pepper again much evident, red fruit (cherries, raspberries). Nice and fine tannins, bold but not overwhelming. Good astringency. Terrific wine overall! (25th September – The Sampler – Islington – Enomatic)
