Stolpman Vineyards Para Maria de los Tecolotes Santa Barbara County Red Blend 2017

$23.99

A collaboration between the Stolpman family and veteran Stolpman Vineyard Manager Ruben Solorzano. A family affair, Ruben's wife Maria runs the day to day operations at Stolpman where andldquo;natural farming, dry farming and sustainable employmentandrdquo; are the guiding principles. This is 80% Syrah and 20% Petit Verdot from the hills of Central Coast. andnbsp;2017 allowed for high percentage of whole cluster Syrah (40%). The energetic carbonic fruit strikes a nice balance with the richer style from traditional fermentation. Succulent and juicy blue and black fruit, this is a match with burgers, steaks and lamb or a big slab of cheese!

The 2017 Para Maria de los Tecolotes, a blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot, is pliant and energetic, with terrific balance and tons of sheer appeal. Dark red fruit, spice and wild flowers all develop in this forward, inviting wine from Stolpman. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2019)

Can you call a wine a juice bomb? Because that’s what this is: raspberry, bacon fat, game juices and herbs...perfectly balanced and presenting itself like an old-school Crozes-Hermitage.

Easy drinking syrah with bbq. This is nicely done for the style. Fruity but still some structure.

This grew on me significantly after letting it breath...a lot! Tons of blackberries and raspberries. Medium bodied. Tasty.

Medium body red. Fruity nose, ripe blackberries and tart cherry. Not too acidic with hints of tannin. Much better after opened for an hour. Enjoyable
