Iron fist in a velvet glove. Wonderful expression. Presents as a cool-climate cab, which then creeps up on you. Plush tannins, lovely oak and brown sugar notes. Finishes with a wonderful sense of urgency. Another @David L gift. Thank you, sir! At Kesté pizzeria, NYC.

My buddy kirk @Kirk Alexander brought this beauty to the party last night. He and I went back and forth all night in regards to the WOTN. It was either the Guest Cottage or this To Kalon Schrader. I gave it to Guest Cottage when the dust settled but this was on par if not a solo equal to. Huge deep dark fruit., great mid and back palate. My buddy Kirk always said that the test of a truly remarkable wine is when nothing stands out since it's in such harmony. That's how I felt about the Guest Cottage. This was as good as the Guest Cottage but I found myself thinking that everything hyped up on it: a little extra this, little extra that, etc., etc. I gave the edge to Guest Cottage for its balanced harmony. Thank you Dov & Rachel for opening your home to all of us last night!! All of these wines were enjoyed with insanely good barbecue which he had flown in from Texas!!!!! Amazing time with amazing friends!!! What else could we have asked for!

Deep color. Intense nose of cherries with withe pepper notes. Full body, with vanilla and spice. Long finish. It was interesting to drink side by side with the 2010 Hundred Acre, as it was more elegant and less "in your face" than the latter. It also captured the essence of the To Kalon fruit and terroir. Great wine with a long life ahead.
