San Fereolo is a small biodynamicandnbsp;estate in Dogliani, the DOCG that sits just to the south of Barolo. Nicoletta Bocca is rightfully known for her exceptional (and exceptionally age-worthy)andnbsp;Dolcetto, but she also makes this 100%andnbsp;Nebbioloandnbsp;called Il Provinciale, named after a book written by her father. Half the grapes for the wine come from her estate in Dogliani and half are from vines in Serralunga. The wine is made like great traditional Barolo, with long macerations and lengthy aging in big botti. Firm tannins and a subtle, earthy character make the wineandnbsp;slow to present itself at present but after some time in the glass the wine really starts to sing. Thereand#39;s clearly a lot to come from this bottle, but itand#39;s hard to resist even now. This is a complex and contemplative wine that drinks far above its modest price tag.andnbsp;andnbsp;
