Domaine Agisson may be a young estate, only just founded in 2017, but Jean-Philippe Agisson has some serious credentials on his resume.andnbsp; After spending 12 years working as cellar master at Alphonse Mellot in Sancerre, Jean-Philippe joined the team at the legendary Domaine Didier Dagueneau as the lead wine maker in 2018, a position he holds today.andnbsp; His personal estate is centered in Sancerre with just 1 hectare of vines to which they added half a hectare in Pouilly-Fumandeacute; starting in 2020. The farming is organic with some biodynamic practices applied and the wine making is straight forward employing hand harvest, gentle pressing, and patient elevage in neutral barrels. We are thrilled to have this wine on our shelves in its inaugural vintage.

The purity and clarity of the 2020 Pouilly Fumé Belle Endormie is astonishing, especially as this is the first vintage. It is seductive, charming and yet has a delightful tension probably from the chalky soils and the fine line of acidity, which acts as an electric current running through the wine. The delicate, pretty, florals and peach flavors are highly attractive. If you wish to commit yourself early to the wine, a decanter would be advised. Or wait a year or two to approach it. Stunning Sauvignon blanc. Not many bottles made it to the USA but if you can get your hands on this pouilly fumé, I highly recommend it. Very much Dagueneau style. Lean, mineral and stony. Tart citrus and some grass up front followed by gooseberry and raspberry. A joy to drink
