Fosse Grely is a single vineyard in the Aube subregion of Champagne. Planted in the 1980and#39;s by Bandeacute;nandeacute;dicte Ruppertand#39;s father, the vines have been tended without chemicals since the beginning. The vineyard has limestone and red clay soil, which make for rich and expansive wine; this rendition of Fosse Grely is equal parts the two grapes. Fermented and aged in a mixture of tanks and barrels with full malolactic fermentation, the wine sees no dosage and no sulfur additions at any stage of the winemaking process. This generous, vinous Champagne is equally expressive of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with notes of pandecirc;che des vignes, aromatic orchard fruits, floral raspberry, and brambly red berries.
