Mix of old vine Mencia, Bastardo (also aka Trousseau) and Alicante Bouschet (aka Garnacha Tintorea). Vines planted 1900-1940. 80% whole cluster in large oak vats. Aged in mix of vessels- foudre, cement and barrique. Bottle unfined/unfiltered.

I completed the Compostela de Santiago in 2016 and was thrilled to see Ultreia in a Binny’s in Chicago. Sadly, I think this 2016 bottle was corked. I’m going to give it another go. The other reviews are great!
