Christmas gift wine... not my favorite producer. But on this occasion I’m wrong. 20 oz dry aged ribeye... at least 3 inches think with brown butter and bordelaise sauce. And this wine is singing! Round, young, smooth and entirely appropriate. Once again It’s hammered home NOT to rely on pre-suppositions with wine. Classic cassis, tobacco, leather, and round black fruit. I don’t buy these New World reds, but with the big bloody steak they work perfectly.
