Love every vintage of Gonon- the best St. Joseph IMO. So expressive and giving seemingly at any age, as it was here with 2016. My second 2016 in the last few months. Signature inky purple. Deep and intense with great texture showing black fruits, liquid minerals, newly bloomed violets, black olive and hints of cacao. Wonderful concentration, energy and finesse. Stains the palate with a long and assertive finish. Excellent.

On the palate this is full-bodied, backed by beautiful polished tannins that surround a juicy core of fresh dark berries laced with pepper and spice flavors. On the palate this displays remarkable balance and concentration as well as striking freshness and purity all the way through the long expansive finish.
