Going the distance. Aussie mint, savories, plum, etc. even after a 3 day decant still holding up.

Absolutely stunning. Consumed on the eve of my 39th birthday. (I am an 82 and my birth year wines are becoming increasing hard to find. This one was purchased as a complete OWC from a private cellar and perfectly stored.) This bottle was so fresh and immaculately stored. The cork came out beautifully. Dark dark color still. Right off the bat the nose screams PENFOLDS GRANGE with eucalyptus, tar, smoked meats and abundant DARK fruit. A gorgeous wine with years and years left ahead of it. Tasted alongside 1982 Chateau Margaux from the cellar and we all found the 1982 Grange to be the superior wine. It left my mouth watering. Absolutely beautiful and one of the top two or three wines I’ve ever tasted of not the best

1982 this wine was off the freaking charts. When it was first opened it was so incredibly / stupidly youthful. Classic Grange aromas of menthol, black cherry, cocoa and brush. It just kept evolving and shortly after showed some age when the oak separated from the dark fruit. Boy what a wine. No wonder it is a hallmark type wine regardless of region and year. Wow thanks @Ben Edwards

Hard tannic structure that needs more time. Closed. Still a great wine for the future.

Like this one a lot still is showing showing some youth did change quite a bit in the glass over the hour we drank it
