Luis Seabraand#39;s project has all the hallmarks of what we consider to be some of the most exciting developments in modern wine andndash; a supremely talented and deeply devoted producer working with some excellent vine material in an historic wine producing area, with an eye towards new levels of quality and transparency. The real excitement here, besides the incredibly beautiful wines themselves, is the fact that Luis is aiming to show a new face to the home of the world's greatest fortified wine. Luis has deep family roots in the Douro and spent years as the lead winemaker at Niepoort, but in his own venture is looking to unlock the secrets of the great terroir of the area via dry whites andamp; reds. Xisto Illimitado Tinto is his village level offering, a blend of old vines planted to six different red grape varieties at 400-600m in elevation.andnbsp;

Interesting as a lighter style red blend from the Douro. Has a fine tannin grittiness, & small black berry approach that is very seductive to this palate. Most analogous to a Moulin A Vent. About 750 cases produced & usually found in restaurants, so quite blessed to drink w friends at Sunset.

This wine tastes like a gamay and Rhône varietal has a baby.

Thin, acidic, awful wine that is typically served at bars. Not worth buying.

Village blend of 7 local varieties (30% Touriga Franca, 20% Tinta Amarela, 20% Tinta Roriz, 10% Rufete, 10% Tinta Barroca, 5% Malvasia Preta, 5% Donzelinho Tinto) from various terraced vineyards in Cima Corgo, in the center of the Douro valley, an area known for its schist soils and high elevation (and home of some of the greatest Port producers). Pomegranate, wet stone, iron, iodine.
