Lingua Franca Estate Eola - Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2017

$57

Lingua Franca is a partnership between Dominque Lafon, one of our favorite producers in Burgundy, and Master Sommelier Larry Stone. Larry has also enlisted the help of Mimi Casteel to oversee the farming to ensure the vines dig deep into healthy soil. The work of this trio is an expression of the Williamette Valley's terroir that is polished and poised, showing the depth and richness capable at this top property. Ripe, round red fruit leads out with just a touch of oak backed by crunchy mineral tones.

About as close to Burgundy as possible in the U.S. Impeccable balance. Must buy more.

Lovely. Not quite clean. Mineral. Not as bright and pretty as the 2016. Too hot?

Very much like a burgundy red. No fruit but has complexity.

Rare weekday bottle to wash down a long ass day. First verdict was “MMMM” followed by “Oooooo”. Strawberries, rose hips, violets, stony minerality, fresh acidity. This is what I’m looking for in a Willamette Valley.

At $36 at Costco this is a reasonably priced Pinot. Medium bodied Pinot , easy to drink, good value.

Beautiful, well-balanced wine. Great strawberry, currant fruit & lengthy finish. This was a really well-crafted wine. Kinda sad I opened it so young!
