We first started working with the beautiful Nebbiolo based wines from Le Piane with the 2008 vintage, and the wines have gone from strength to strength since. Their Boca comes from a host of parcels over about 4haandnbsp;pieced together byandnbsp;Christoph Kuenzliandnbsp;and a few friends. This is traditional Piemontese winemaking at itand#39;s finest - long fermentations in open steel andamp; large wood with native yeasts for about 30 days and aging in large older Slavonian oak for 3 years.andnbsp; Weand#39;d have to count and#39;15 as the most successful version of this Boca since we first encountered the wines. This shows clean red fruits withandnbsp;a subtle peppery spice from the small amount of Vespolina used in the blend. An exceptionally pretty wine already, with impressive drive and intensity carried over a silky mid-weight frame. Thereand#39;s graceful lifting acidity that makes this a joy to pop andamp; enjoy now and will allow this to flourish in the cellarandnbsp;over the next 10+ years.andnbsp;
