Aubry is located in Jouy-les-Reims, in the western portion of the Montagne de Reims, where two twin brothers oversee 15 hectares of vines and produce some of the most original wines in Champagne. They've taken great care to maintain plantings of all of the allowed traditional varieties of the region, although this cuvandeacute;e is made with the three most common: equal parts of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. This is always a vintage wine. Chardonnay is aged in previously-used barrique, the remainder in stainless steel, and the wine does go through malolactic. The 2008 is rich and bold with dark fruit flavors complemented by spicy, savory tones carrying the finish. A top example from an exceptional vintage and a great value for such a serious vintage Champagne.
